Artica
|
Summary: This whole page will be a lot less confusing if I explain what Artica is. The shortest version is to say Sayorafina and Artica share a body.
Sayorafina's Theory: Sayorafina has the ability to directly converse with Artica, so her theory on what Artica is has been heavily influenced by lies told by Artica. She tends to think that Artica is the very essence of all the bloodlust and hatred she fights to keep under control. Artica is a "power" that Sayorafina fears, but thinks may be necessary to be strong enough to save Touryu. Fai's Theory: Fai's theory heads in the right direction, but is largely based on his distrust of demons and the origin of the seal. Upon learning of the seal's existence, Fai conducted a through magical analalysis and all that was able to discern was that the seal leaked demonic energy and that it was ineffectively sealing Sayorafina's power. Deeming it too dangerous to completely remove the existing seal, Fai modified it. In terms of appearance, the ring of flames was replaced with a ring of stars, and the dragon wrapped his tail around the crystal. In terms of functionality, the demonic energy was completely suppressed, and synchronized with her crystal so the power could be tapped if ever her life was in danger. Fai was always uncertain as to the source of the demonic energy, and considering the possibility he wouldn't like the answer he opted to investigate no further. I cannot believe that I cannot release the seals fully. Fai truly is a cunning one. -Artica Dariux's Theory (The Truth): After years of frustrated searching for Touryu, Sayorafina's search took her constantly in search of the worst of humans. Always chasing rumors of those who killed or enslaved elves, her sword stayed freshly stained with human blood until the killing just wouldn't stop anymore. Sayorfina found herself killing humans for no other reason than because they were human. Driven nearly mad with grief and frustration, she had become no better than those she despised. In the middle of one of her many slayings, she was found by the sword master who had trained her. His solution was a seal. He sealed away most of her power, and with it her blood lust. What he didn't tell her, was the seal hadn't been all that was added. When he made the "seal" he sealed Artica's soul into Sarorafina's body, so she could take it over. The original form or the seal is of a young dragon in fight, trapped in a ring of flames. Do you think he would teach someone with your potential most of his style? You could have easily defeated him long ago which is why he put restraints on your power. I was once his best friend, the only problem was that I was human. If I take you over I can live with an elven lifespan. - Artica to Sayorfina Differences in Physical Description: Her hair is shorter and is the same blue of her eyes. Her Ears lose most of their elven sharpness, resembling ears of a half elf or human. Her hands seem to almost be claws and she has a smile that seems to forewarn of death. Garments: At initial transformation she would be wearing whatever Sayorafina was wearing. Left dominant long enough to decide the wardrobe, she prefers much flashier and eye catching garments than the stealthy and conservative Sayorafina. Her Crystal is usually concealed as Artica is still lifebound to it, but hates the reminder. Personality: Artica has lived her time as a demon and had her fun. She understands that any time she gets in control of Sayorafina's body is borrowed time, and she works hard to enjoy every minute of it. If there are lives to end, or pain to inflict Artica is sure to be found. Her idea of fun tends to be mercenary work or assassinations. |
